A Promise Kept.A Dream Realized.

Shantabaa Medical College & General Hospital Built in the memory of a mother, dedicated to the service of the poor.

Our Story

Shantabaa

It Started with a Loss

The story of Shantabaa Medical College & General Hospital did not begin in a boardroom it began in the heart of a 14-year-old boy.

Many years ago, our President, Mr. Vasant Gajera, experienced a life-changing tragedy when he lost his beloved mother, Smt. Shantabaa Haribhai Gajera, due to illness. At that time, access to quality medical care in rural areas was limited, and for many families, treatment was not affordable.

Witnessing his mother’s suffering left a lasting impact on him. In his grief, young Vasantbhai made a silent promise to himself:

“One day, I will build a hospital where no son has to lose his mother just because he cannot afford treatment.”

Today, Shantabaa Medical College & General Hospital (SMCGH) stands as the fulfillment of that promise. Named in memory of his mother, the hospital was built with a purpose beyond profit—to save lives and serve humanity.

Ekta Gajera

Guiding Us Forward

While the vision was born from Mr. Vasant Gajera, the everyday mission of saving lives is led by our Managing Director, Dr. Ekta Gajera.

Dr. Ekta brings a strong medical background and a modern outlook to the Gajera Trust. Under her leadership, she ensures that:

  • The hospital maintains the highest standards of hygiene and patient care

  • Medical students receive up-to-date, practical training

  • Every patient is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion

While the vision was born from Mr. Vasant Gajera, the everyday mission of saving lives is led by our Managing Director, Dr. Ekta Gajera.

Under her guidance, SMCGH has evolved from a physical structure into a vibrant center of hope—where advanced medical science meets deeply rooted values of service.
